The Azure NoSQL Evolution: Azure Table Storage Vs. Azure Cosmos DB (200)

Speaker: Sirar Salih

In this session we will take a look at the NoSQL evolution in Azure, focusing on Azure Table Storage and Azure Cosmos DB. First, we will dive into Table Storage and look at the good stuff and the bad stuff. Then we will jump into the wonders of Cosmos DB and look at the pros and the cons compared to Table Storage. Azure Table Storage is a schemaless, NoSQL data service in the cloud. It’s simple and it does its job well, but everything great has its pitfalls. We will take a look at and investigate the wonders and the mysteries, the shocks and the no-nos of using Azure Table Storage. We will look at sample code setting up and using the storage in action. Since 2017, Azure Cosmos DB has been the new kid on the block. Everyone talks about it and it took us by storm. The NoSQL universe is changing as a whole, but what is all the fuss really about? Are we entering a new era of NoSQL databases? Is SQL dead? So many questions! Table Storage vs. Cosmos DB – let the games begin!
